INCREDIBLE YEARS PARENTING PROGRAMS

CHILDREN AGES 3 TO 10

The Incredible Years Parenting Program is designed to strengthen parenting skills and prevent and treat behavior problems in children ages 3 to 10. The program has been extensively researched and field-tested on over 1500 families. It is based on well-established behavioral-learning principles that describe how behaviors are learned and how they can be changed.

The Children’s goals are to promote competences in social skills, problem solving ability, and school success. Further to decrease aggression, bullying, and noncompliant behavior.

The Parent goals are to promote positive communication within the family, improve the limit setting abilities of the parent, teach nonviolent discipline techniques and promote positive strategies such as ignoring, allowing logical consequences, providing redirection and developing problem solving and empathy skills in parents.

INFANTS and TODDLERS

A new program is being implemented designed by the Incredible Years team that focuses on INFANTS and TODDLERS.

The programs goals for the infants and toddlers are to promote optimal social and emotional development, secure attachments to parents, develop physical, language, brain skills and develop self-confidence.

The program goals for the parents are to increase positive relationships and bonding. Improve understanding of what babies need to develop and how to coach skills using positive praise and feedback to children. Further how to safety-proof their homes and keep children safe.

Each course meets one time per week for twelve weeks. Homework and practice outside of class is required.
